We've designed the Creek House to be a cosy, rustic cabin with every modern luxury. It's kept spick and span with professional cleaning before every stay, ensuring a stay that is both grounding and exceptionally comfortable. The heart of the cottage is the spacious living area, where you can curl up on the comfortable sofa in front of the electric fireplace on cooler evenings. For rainy days, a 4K TV with Apple TV provides endless entertainment. The fully-equipped kitchen is a highlight, praised by guests as being even better than the photos. It has everything you need to prepare a proper home-cooked meal, essential for a true retreat experience. The bedroom is a peaceful haven, designed for the perfect night's sleep. It features an 'insanely comfortable' king-sized bed complemented by a full 'pillow menu' to suit every preference—from cool, firm latex to soft, plush hotel-style pillows on the bed and high and low-profile pillows in the wardrobe. Every bed is made with fresh, high-quality linens, and the bathroom is stocked with lovely Sheridan towels. With the large window looking out over the rainforest, you can find your perfect comfort while falling asleep to the gentle, soothing sounds of the creek just meters away. But the feature everyone talks about is the unforgettable outdoor shower. It’s more than a shower; it’s an exhilarating experience. As one guest put it, "it would not be possible to shower closer to nature." It’s completely private and an absolute highlight of any stay.

Other Details to Note

A WARM WELCOME FOR PETS We genuinely love hosting your furry friends! To ensure the retreat remains pristine for all guests, we just ask you to follow a few house rules. FURNITURE: Please keep pets off beds and sofas. If you know your pet loves to cuddle, you must bring your own blankets to cover our furniture completely. CANE TOADS: As with any rural property in this area, cane toads may be present. Their poison is highly toxic to dogs. Please ensure your pet is supervised at all times and does not interact with any toads. RAT BAIT: We use pet-proof bait stations to manage rodents, which are a natural part of the ecosystem. While securely placed, it is still possible for a dog to find a poisoned rodent. We kindly ask that you keep an eye on your pet and contact a vet immediately if they show any signs of illness. CLEANLINESS: Please clean up after your pet, both inside and out. To avoid extra cleaning fees, please ensure pets are clean and dry before coming inside. SPECIAL OFFER FOR PET PARENTS We love seeing your pets enjoying their vacation! Share a great photo or video of them from their stay on social media, and we'll refund their nightly pet fee. Here’s how: 1. Post a public photo or video. 2. Tag @SnowsCreekRetreat on FB or Insta and use the hashtag #SnowsCreekAndPaws. 3. Set your location to Snows Creek Retreat. 4. Send us a link (through the social media account) to your post! THE JOURNEY TO YOUR RETREAT Our beautiful, secluded location is part of the magic. The final stretch of the journey is on a classic unsealed hinterland road. It's well-maintained and suitable for any standard 2WD or 4WD vehicle, but we advise taking it slow to enjoy the scenery and navigate any bumps. Be aware that our local wildlife (wallabies and birds) are not car-savvy and can be unpredictable, so please drive with care, especially at dawn and dusk. CONNECTIVITY IN THE HINTERLAND To help you fully unwind, please note there is not much mobile phone reception in our valley. We highly recommend turning on your "Wi-Fi Calling" feature before you arrive; our fast Wi-Fi will then allow your phone to work seamlessly. Please have your driving directions loaded before you leave the nearest town. KEEPING YOUR SANCTUARY PERFECT To ensure the property is always at its best, our maintenance team may need to visit during your stay. This includes our gardener or lawn mowing person. Your privacy is their absolute priority. They are professional, discreet, and trained to work in a way that minimises any impact on your stay.

Last-minute extensions (on the morning of departure) are often not possible as our cleaning team travels a fair distance to reach the property. Noise & Neighbours: Please respect the peace of the hinterland. No significant noise or loud music between 10 pm and 8 am. Keys & Lockouts: Please leave keys on the dining table at checkout. Lock-out fee: $80 (if we need to send someone to let you in). Lost key replacement: Up to $300. Strictly No Parties & No Smoking Indoors. PET POLICY: Exploring the Hinterland with Your Dog We love hosting four-legged guests! To keep your pet safe and our property beautiful, we have a few strict requirements: 1. Wildlife & Safety (Critical - Please Read): You are staying in a real rainforest environment. Protecting Native Wildlife: We have wallabies, koalas, and echidnas on site. For their safety, dogs must be under effective control at all times when outside. Check-out & Extensions: We love when guests want to stay longer! Paralysis ticks are found in this region, so please ensure your pet's prevention is up to date. Be vigilant for Cane Toads at night (toxic to dogs) and leeches (common after rain). Baits: As with most rural properties, we use rat bait stations to manage pests. While we place them carefully, please supervise your dog at all times to ensure they do not investigate areas they shouldn't. 2. Furniture & Bedding: Pets are not permitted on beds or sofas unless you use your own pet blankets. If your dog is a "cuddler," you MUST bring throws to cover our furniture completely. Evidence of pets on uncovered furniture (hair, muddy prints) will incur an extra cleaning fee. 3. Never Leave Pets Unattended: Pets must not be left alone at the property (inside or outside) while you go out. Strange environments can cause separation anxiety, leading to barking or damage to doors/screens. 4. Cleanliness: Please clean up after your pet immediately. Muddy Paws: We know adventures get messy! Please ensure your dog is clean and dry before entering the house. Extra Cleaning Fees: If our cleaners need to spend extra time removing pet hair, muddy prints, or odours, an additional cleaning fee of $50 per hour will apply.

Neighborhood

Located in the peaceful Byron Bay Hinterland, this home is a private sanctuary surrounded by rainforest and the sounds of nature. Your nearest neighbours are wallabies, koalas, echidnas, and the occasional platypus in the creek. While you feel a million miles from anywhere, the charming village of Federal (home to the famous Doma Cafe) and the eclectic town of Mullumbimby are just a scenic drive away. It is the perfect base for exploring the region's stunning natural beauty, from the spectacular Minyon Falls to the artisan shops of Newrybar and Bangalow.

Guest Access

You will have exclusive and uninterrupted access to the entire Creek House and its private deck. Being right on the water's edge, you are welcome to step outside and explore the beautiful, babbling creek that flows past your retreat. Our property is home to two separate retreats. To ensure absolute privacy for everyone, we kindly ask that you enjoy the Creek House and its immediate surroundings, and refrain from approaching the other dwelling (the Pool House). We ensure its guests do exactly the same, giving you complete peace and seclusion. For those wanting a longer walk or to explore further along the creek, there is an additional walking path on the property. You'll find the entrance to this path directly opposite the caravan. Parking is also provided for your convenience in the carport attached to the Creek House.

This place has everything that makes an Airbnb a 5 star stay: unique experience (sleep and shower next to a creek), amazing natural surroundings and view, outstanding hospitality and care from the hosts, high-quality amenities, and every single thing in the house was thoughtful and placed with care. For what we received it was a great price and we had no issues driving to the place. It is the best Airbnb we have stayed in.

If you are looking for a private nature getaway but with modern accomodations, this place is for you! The outdoor shower is a fun and exciting way to start and/or finish your day, with a spectacular view of the creek and surrounds. No mobile signal, perfect for disconnecting. But also has pretty good wi-fi if you do need to stay connected. ~45 minutes drive to Byron Bay, lots of nature trails and gorgeous views from the road as you drive around the area. Just be wary of any potholes, they come up on you quick. 😉

The Creek cottage has the perfect balance modern comfortable convenience and total immersion with mother nature. My whole body sighed with relief when I got out of my car and felt the serenity and smelled the forest. Everything was immaculate the bed was comfy, the lounge was even more comfy, and I got to drift off to sleep to the sound of the beautiful creek.

What can I say, this was simply one of the best AirBNBs available for the price. If you are in need for a lovely property away from the hustle and bustle of city life, this is THE spot to be. The location of this tidy little cabin was situated right in the middle of the bush on such a beautiful property. Nothing could prepare my partner and I for the outdoor shower that looked right out onto a creek situation on the property. Although there is another cabin on the property, we never felt as if we weren’t on a private, secluded cabin. The kitchen was also a massive standout, as it was fully furnished, and had everything you would need out of a kitchen. I cannot recommend this AirBNB enough!

A private vehicle is essential. To enjoy your stay at Snows Creek Retreat, you must have your own car. There is no public transport, and while ride-share apps (like Uber) might "technically" work in the region, they are unreliable and prohibitively expensive due to our secluded location. The Drive & Parking The final leg of your journey is on a classic unsealed country road. It is well-maintained and suitable for any standard 2WD vehicle in all weather conditions. We advise taking it slow to enjoy the scenery and watch for wildlife (especially at dusk). Once you arrive, there is ample complimentary parking on-site. Exploring the Region We are the perfect base for exploring. You are just a short, scenic drive from the spectacular Minyon Falls or the charming villages of Federal, Bangalow, and Newrybar.
